Renting is still the most common source of income for most people, according to a study by research company Rent-A-Center.
But according to data compiled by the non-profit, most people pay between 15 percent and 20 percent of their income on their property taxes.
“Renters in the US pay almost three times as much on property taxes as people in any other country, with the highest average tax bill for all of the world’s countries,” the study says.
“But most renters pay less than they would if they rented in their home country.”
